Process - Pilotwings

I did an illustration for Nintendo's NSider regarding a possible Pilotwings title for Wii. I started out with a line drawing on cream-tinted paper, then scanned the image into Photoshop and composited it against a background. After a bit of weathering on the glass and some early flats, it became clear that I needed an indication of power and vibration in the throttle—a Wii controller in this case. I duplicated the hand/remote element and offset it, selecting multiply for the top layer. This created the mechanical energy it needed.

Wow, man! You do some amazing things, and everything you've posted seems to be a different style (granted, I know next to nothing about art, lol). I'm looking forward to what you post next...

I won't lie. just seeing this makes me giddy.

I am far too into videogames for this not to excite me.
